Deon Estus – Heaven Help Me

Heaven Help Me was the debut single from American singer/ bassist Deon Estus. Estus had previously been a member of the 80s group, Wham!. The song, Heaven Help Me, was co-written by Estus and former Wham! group-mate George Michael, who also sang background on the song.

Heaven Help me was the first single from the 1989 album Spell by Estus and the song reached number 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. I love the dreamy, almost bittersweet, horn arrangement.

Album Art: Angela Bofil

Something About You, released in October 1981, was Angela Bofil‘s third album.

Randy Jackson, best known as an original judge on the TV show American Idol played bass on the album. Guitarist Earl Klugh and the horn section from the group Tower of Power played on the album. Singer Scherrie Payne added backing vocals and Narada Michael Walden produced it.

The album peaked at number 13 on the U.S. R&B chart and number 4 on the U.S. jazz chart.
